The description of Voice Changer
It seems like there are voice simulation apps everywhere these days. Voice Changer is just another addition to the endless list of voice apps, running on the creative fmod voice effect engine.
Essence of Voice Changer - 4/5
This is simply an app that records your voice and outputs it with a specific voice effect. In this case, you’ll get 20 free voice filters, and you can purchase more packs with real money. There are cartoony effects such as monster, helium, bee, bathroom, and underwater among others. You tap a button on the screen to start recording and apply the filter that you desire. You can also keep track of all your past recordings, set them as ringtones or alarms, and share them with your friends on social media. It is an app with mostly basic themes, and very little is added creatively to this game.
Graphics and Audio - 4/5
The graphics are definitely very colorful, and the game has a dominant yellow theme which might make you a little light-headed if you stay on the app too much. The design is simple, and it works. Distinct icons represent each of the effects. You can tell that not a lot of thought or time has been put into designing the UI. Audio, which is the star of the app, is quite decent and delivers on the expectations.
Controls - 4/5
This isn’t really much of a game as it is an app that applies a special effect to your voice. There isn’t a control system here, only buttons that you tap to select certain options or move back and forth through the various screens. The main thing that you use is the ‘record’ button which is clearly marked out. From there you’ll be prompted to apply an effect, and you can choose your desired filter from the menu options provided.
Immersion - 3/5
The app is not much different from other voice changer apps, and you might have come across a lot of the effects somewhere else. This one is free to play and offers you a few filters to start with, but you will soon get tired of them. The best part about the app is the fact that you can record anything you can think of and have it run through any effect you want. The mic lacks latency, and you’ll experience severe glitches with this app or low-resolution recordings.
- Colorful and vibrant interface;
- The controls are entirely intuitive as soon as you start using the app;
- The sound effects are executed well.
- Has too many ads;
- Terrible mic reception;
- The number of voice changers is limited.
Voice Changer doesn’t try to be different. It is the same app that you might have come across before, this time in different packaging. It does what it promises though, and some of the effects are not only creative but are also humorous. You’ll enjoy hearing yourself sounding like an alien or as the voice of death, but ultimately this isn’t a game you’ll spend hours in. The developers should also keep ads toned down and offer more voice packs.20 Sep 2019
