The description of Minecraft

We believe that games with huge fan bases should be available on any kind of gadget. Minecraft overcame the bar of 100 million players a couple of years ago, so the version of Minecraft Pocket Edition, released specifically for smartphones and tablets, has been fated to be successful.

The Essence of Minecraft – 4/5

Minecraft PE is probably the most popular sandbox in history, which provides an endless world of possibilities for crafting and building, and a minimum of restrictions. Minecraft doesn’t require completing missions, tasks, or quests. You have only your imagination and a great amount of equipment to turn your dreams into a ‘blocky’ reality.

The phenomena of Minecraft is a complete mystery. The audience of the game includes both young and adult players, pro gamers and beginners. Since the original Minecraft game was launched, the adaptation of Minecraft for mobile devices was only a matter of time. Of course, the mobile version cannot be compared with the PC version in terms of capabilities, but at the same time, it didn’t lose its charm at all.

Graphics and Audio – 5/5

The graphics are for what Minecraft is probably famous. Don’t expect to see any high-quality visuals like picturesque landscapes or detailed locations. The Minecraft’s PE world is a huge pixelated space with blocky characters, trees, flowers, that pleases your eye.

Also, in the Minecraft Pocket Edition, as well as in the original one, there are no exquisite soundtracks. But you will still hear the noises your character makes by interacting with others or building things.
You can say that it’s primitive, but is it really? Minecraft’s pixelated graphics together with simple sounds make a captivating duo.

Controls – 5/5

The mobile version of Minecraft has a completely different control system from the original one. There is a special “joystick” in the corner of the screen that provides you with all the needed buttons for convenient playing experience. Build, move, and run with light taps, scrolls, and swipes on the screen of your smartphone. Everything is easy and intuitive, so you’ll get used to the game controls soon.

Immersion – 5/5

Minecraft Pocket Edition is a great portable version of its ‘full’ tribesman. The familiar retro style, convenience of simplicity, and casualness have been carefully preserved. Porting successfully changed the weight of the application, so it won’t take much storage place on your smartphone.

  • Easy to control;
  • Unique visual design;
  • Original gameplay;
  • A cool adaptation of the full game.

  • Can be glitchy in the multiplayer mode;
  • Might overheat the battery of your device if you play for a long time.

Of course, Minecraft Pocket Edition is still far from its older console/PC bro, but it’s definitely worth your attention. Carefully preserving all possible features of the game, Mojang created a worthy Minecraft version, that fits your pocket.
